We’re delighted to welcome Joanne Prestidge-King to the board of the Appaloosa Horse Club UK.

Jo has been part of the Appaloosa world for a decade. During that time she has owned and produced youngsters, bringing them on and selling them, and has developed a deep love for the breed’s versatility and cheeky personalities. Her current horse, Zand Edition affectionately known as “Spot” is a true all-rounder. Together they compete in British Showjumping, British Dressage up to Elementary, Combined Training, Showing with BSHA, SHBGB, BAPS and ApHC UK, and an impressive range of western disciplines including trail, ranch, horsemanship, western dressage and cow work such as team penning and cutting. Spot also proudly serves the community as part of Northamptonshire Police’s Volunteers on Horseback team.

Jo has been riding since she was 18 months old and holds several BHS qualifications. Outside the saddle, she works as an AI Architect for a large tech company, runs the East Anglian Ghostbusters franchise, fosters animals for the RSPCA (including rabbits and a tortoise!), and paints and draws on a commission basis. She brings a wealth of leadership, mentoring and technical skills to the club.

As a director, Jo is passionate about member engagement and making it easy for people to get involved whether they ride regularly, enjoy their horses at home, or simply love the Appaloosa breed. She hopes to encourage participation, create fun and accessible activities, and help grow a welcoming, vibrant community for all Appaloosa owners.

We’re thrilled to have her on board.
